While we’ve done our best to make PracticeLight a must-have service that’s both easy to use and economical, we recognize that it may not be a good fit for everyone.  In general, you should seriously consider becoming a Member if one or more of the following reasons apply:

  1. You know you should have at least a basic measurement system in place, but don’t have the time or energy to define the metrics or do regular analysis yourself.
  2. Your management information is scattered among scheduling systems, patient files, accounting software, billing service reports, etc.
  3. Your existing in-house management reporting is missing critical types of information.
  4. Your current management information is difficult to understand.
  5. You already collect basic information about your practice’s performance, but don’t review it regularly or use it consistently to make decisions.
  6. You want to have an objective, external basis for evaluating your practice’s performance and looking for improvement opportunities.
  7. You want to set fact-based goals for your staff and measure their performance against them.
  8. You want to be able to view your clinic’s performance online from anywhere with internet access.
  9. You want to be part of a dedicated group that identifies and shares best practices based on actual performance.
  10. You want to be able to discuss your clinic’s performance with important outsiders in concrete, specific terms.

Based on our experience, the single most important thing to consider as you evaluate PracticeLight is whether you’re ready to do things differently based on the new information you receive.  While performance measurement and benchmarking have proven to be invaluable management tools over many years and in every kind of business, there will be no return on your investment in PracticeLight unless you take action.  If you know now that having new facts about your practice’s performance—however important—wouldn’t change how you make decisions or manage day-to-day operations, you’re already committed to business as usual and PracticeLight is probably not for you.
